OMANAC - PLUS Tablet
Active Ingredients:
- Pantoprazole (40 mg): A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production.
- Domperidone (10 mg): A prokinetic agent that helps prevent nausea, vomiting, and acid reflux by improving stomach motility.
Description & Mechanism of Action:
Pantoprazole:
- Blocks the proton pump in stomach lining cells, reducing acid secretion.
- Helps in treating acid reflux, GERD, and ulcers.
Domperidone:
- Works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain and gut.
- Increases stomach emptying, reducing bloating, nausea, and acid reflux.
Uses:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Acid reflux and heartburn
- Peptic and gastric ulcers
- Nausea, vomiting, and bloating
- Indigestion and acidity-related discomfort
Dosage & Administration:
- Adults: One tablet before meals, usually once daily (or as prescribed).
- Should be taken on an empty stomach for better absorption.
- Do not chew or crush the tablet.

- Nausea, headache
- Dizziness, drowsiness
- Stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation
- Dry mouth
- Rare: Long-term use may cause Vitamin B12 deficiency or bone weakness.
Precautions & Warnings:
- Avoid alcohol & smoking (may worsen acid reflux).
- Not recommended for long-term use without medical supervision.
- Use with caution in kidney/liver disease (dose adjustment may be required).
- Not suitable for people with severe heart problems (Domperidone may affect heart rhythm).
Drug Interactions:
- Antacids (may reduce Pantoprazole effectiveness; take 1 hour apart).
- Blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin) (may increase bleeding risk).
- Antifungal drugs (e.g., Ketoconazole, Itraconazole) (Pantoprazole reduces their absorption).
